Like the city, the clubs of Hyderabad have a long history. While a few are there since British period, others came up during Nizam's rule. Secunderabad Club:
The Secunderabad Club was established in 1878. It is located at Picket, Secunderabad. It is the oldest one of Hyderabad and one of the five oldest ones in India. It started as an exclusive association for British military officers. It offers various membership types such as permanent, mess member, associate, lady member, corporate, temporary member, etc. The entry fee ranges from Rs.500 - Rs.20 lakh and the monthly subscription fee is between Rs.500 - Rs.1,000 based on the membership type.
It has facilities like library, sports and games, guest rooms, pavilions, lady's beauty parlour, men's salon, ATM, petrol pump, super market, vegetable shop, movie screens, sailing annexe on Hussain Sagar lake, etc. It also organizes events like Ghazal nights, DJ nights, fashion shows, tournaments, etc.
Nizam Club:
The Nizam Club is considered one of the best and oldest ones of Hyderabad. Established in the year 1884 by Mahbub Ali Khan of Asaf Jahi dynasty, it was formed as an Indian response to the British Secunderabad Club. It is located near Saifabad, Hyderabad.
Membership is open to all. Lifetime membership costs around Rs.50,000 (reference required). It has facilities like tennis court, library, billiards, cards, shuttle court, swimming pool and banquet hall. It also organizes special events like tambola, dandiya, musical nights and many other events.
Jubilee Hills International Club:
It was formed in the year 1987 and is located at Jubilee Hills. It has facilities like swimming pool, tennis court, badminton court, cards, squash, billiards, snookers, basketball, cricket ground and more. It also has stylish pub, beautiful lawn and restaurant.
Deccan Club:
The Deccan Club was established in the year 1900. It is located at East Marredpally. It offers three types of memberships - honorary members, permanent members and lady members. A non-refundable entrance fee Rs.50,000 should be paid to become a member, along with monthly subscriptions of Rs.150 every month. It has facilities like billiards, caroms, table tennis, restaurant, gym and play area for children.
Hyderabad Golf Club:
It is a non-profit society, formed in the year 1992. The club is famous for its courses in golf. It has a well maintained golf court with standard 18-hole golf course, distanced across 4,525 yards and 66 pars. It is located opposite Qutub Shahi Tombs, Golconda. It has a restaurant, a bar and golfing facility. It organizes golf tournaments throughout the year.
Chiraan Fort Club:
It was established in the year 1993. It is known for its luxurious suites, rooms and beautiful lush green lawns. It is popularly known as "Club for the Privileged". It has the antique furniture and paintings of the Nawab era. It is located at Begumpet
The association offers regular membership, life membership, permanent membership, corporate, institutional and executive membership. The membership ranges from Rs.50,000 to Rs.1,00,000. Facilities available are swimming pool, library, banquet hall, badminton, squash, billiards, table tennis, multi-cuisine restaurant, business rooms and suites, recreational activities and many more. It organizes events like tambola and regularly screens English, Hindi and Telugu movies.
Film Nagar Cultural Club (FNCC):
FNCC was formed in the year 1993. It is for people belonging to film fraternity. It is located at Film Nagar, Jubilee Hills. It has facilities like swimming pool, badminton, tennis, billiards, squash, banquet halls, guest rooms, patio, amphitheatre, gym, children's play area, cards room and multi-cuisine restaurant. It organizes weekly and monthly events such as tambola, screening of Hindi, Telugu and English movies, festival celebrations and more.
Celebrity Club:
It was formed in the year 2004. It is located at Shamirpet, Ranga Reddy District. It offers various membership cards like permanent membership, corporate membership, senior citizen membership, temporary membership, etc. The range of the membership is from Rs.30,000 to Rs.1,75,000.
It has various facilities such as multi-cuisine restaurants, guest rooms, swimming pool, fitness centre, cricket ground, horse riding, golf, squash, badminton, table tennis and many more.
Country Club:
The Country Club India network formed its first association in Begumpet, Hyderabad which is known as Country Club. It has many chains of resorts all over India and world.
Membership is open to all. It offers various memberships like the Billionaire Premium/Gold/Classic Membership Card, which cost from Rs.60,000 to Rs.1,30,000. It has various facilities like cuisine restaurants, bars, swimming pool, fitness centre and many more. It also organizes local sightseeing and vacations to different parts of India. It organizes special events like beauty pageants, fashion shows, New Year parties, festival events, special events.
